The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) 1 And [by] those who remove with ease 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 “When we have become decayed bones?” 11 They shall say, 'That then were a losing return!' 12 But it shall be only a single cry, 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: 16 'Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent. 17 And say: 'Would you like to grow (in virtue)? 18 ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” 19 And thereupon he [went to Pharaoh and] made him aware of the great wonder [of God's grace]. 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned his back, striving. 22 and gathered his people and declared: 23 And he said: I am your Lord, most high. 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 In this, behold, there is a lesson indeed for all who stand in awe [of God]. 26
