The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 And when the seas rise, 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what sin she was killed 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 when the sky is unveiled, 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward. 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 And your companion is not gone mad. 22 he indeed saw the message-bearer on the clear horizon; 23 He is not chary of making public what is unknown. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 Then where are you going? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
