The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 And when the stars darken, 2 The mountains made to move, 3 when the ten-months pregnant camels shall be abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts are gathered 5 And when the seas rise, 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 And when the hell is kindled up, 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 then shall a soul know what it has produced. 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 And the night when it departs, 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 and he is not one to begrudge others the knowledge [of whatever has been revealed to him] out of that which is beyond the reach of human Perception. 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
