The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sun is wound up; 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 And when the wild animals are made to go forth, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 and when the scrolls [of men's deeds] are unfolded, 10 And when the heaven has its covering removed, 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 Every soul will then come to know what it has brought. 14 Oh, but I call to witness the planets, 15 that hide, 16 And by the night as it departs; 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 one mighty and held in honour with the Lord of the Throne; 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. Other angels obey angel Jibreel. 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 And this Prophet is not miserly upon the hidden. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 Whither then will you go? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 for everyone of you who wishes to follow the Straight Way; 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
