Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heaven shall be cleft, 1 and when the stars are scattered, 2 And when the oceans are swept away. 3 when the tombs are overthrown, 4 every soul will see the result of its deeds - those recorded before his death and those which will produce either virtue or evil after his death. 5 O man! What has deceived you away from your Lord, the Most Beneficent? 6 Who created you, proportioned you, and balanced you? 7 In whatever Form He wills, does He put thee together. 8 Rather, you belied the Recompense. 9 Surely there are guardians over you, 10 Kiraman (honourable) Katibin writing down (your deeds). 11 who know of all that you do. 12 Most surely the righteous are in bliss, 13 and the wicked shall be in the Blazing Fire. 14 [a fire] which they shall enter on Judgment Day, 15 and which they shall not [be able to] evade. 16 And what will make you know what the Day of Recompense is? 17 And once again: What could make thee conceive what that Judgment Day will be? 18 It is the Day when no one shall have the power to do anything for another, and all command shall be Allah's. 19
God the Almighty always says the truth.
