Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is cleft asunder, 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 When the seas are poured forth, 3 And when the [contents of] graves are scattered, 4 Each soul will know what it had sent ahead and what it had left behind. 5 O man! What hath made thee careless concerning thy Lord, the Bountiful, 6 Who created you, fashioned you perfectly, and gave you due proportion; 7 In whatsoever form He listed He constructed thee. 8 By no means! Aye, ye belie the Requital. 9 But verily over you (are appointed angels) to protect you,- 10 Honourablel scribes. 11 They know whatsoever ye do. 12 Behold, [in the life to come] the truly virtuous: will indeed be in bliss, 13 The wicked certainly in Hell: 14 Roasted they shall be therein on the Day of Requital. 15 And will not be absent thence. 16 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Doom? 17 Again, what do you know what the Day of Recompense is? 18 It will be a Day when no human being shall be of the least avail to any other human being, God [alone] will hold command on that Day. 19
True are the words of God the Almighty.
