The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ What are they asking (one another)? 1 (Is it) of the great announcement 2 concerning which they are in disagreement! 3 But they will soon come to know. 4 Again surely yes, they will soon come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth as a cradle 6 and the mountains as pegs? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 and gave you repose in sleep, 9 and made the night a covering, 10 and made the day for earning a livelihood. 11 We raised over you several secure (skies), 12 (the sun) as a shining torch 13 And sent down, from the rain clouds, pouring water 14 that We may bring forth thereby grain and plants, 15 And orchards full of trees and interlacing boughs. 16 Surely, the Day of Judgement has an appointed time. 17 A day when the trumpet is blown and ye come in multitudes, 18 and heaven is opened, and become gates, 19 and the mountains are set in motion, and become a vapour. 20 Indeed, Hell has been lying in wait 21 The rebels' abode, 22 In it shall they remain for a long time. 23 They will not taste therein [any] coolness or drink 24 only burning despair and ice-cold darkness: 25 An exact recompense (according to their evil crimes). 26 for they never expected to be called to account, 27 and they cried loud lies to Our signs; 28 But all things We have enumerated in writing. 29 So taste you (the results of your evil actions); no increase shall We give you, except in torment. 30
