The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the heavens and that which comes in the night -- 1 What could let you know what the nightly comer is! 2 (It is a nightly radiant star). 3 There is not a soul but over it is a keeper. 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 He was created from spurting fluid, 6 That issueth from between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 He certainly has the power to bring him back to life. 8 A day when the secrets will be examined. 9 [man] will have no power, and no helper. 10 So I call to witness the rain-producing sky, 11 and the earth, bursting forth with plants! 12 Verily! This (the Quran) is the Word that separates (the truth from falsehood, and commands strict legal laws for mankind to cut the roots of evil). 13 And it is not a thing for amusement. 14 They are hatching up a plot, 15 but I shall bring all their scheming to nought. 16 So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
