The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca. First revelation of the Quran before The Pen (Al-Qalam)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Read (Prophet Muhammad) in the Name of your Lord who created, 1 Created man from a clot. 2 Read - for thy Sustainer is the Most Bountiful One 3 who taught by the pen, 4 He taught the human being what he did not know. 5 No indeed; surely Man waxes insolent, 6 because he thinks himself self-sufficient: 7 Verily, to thy Lord is the return (of all). 8 Bethinkest thou him who forbiddeth, 9 a worshipper from praying? 10 Have you seen if he was upon guidance 11 He would enjoin piety, so how good it would be! 12 Tell me if he (the disbeliever, Abu Jahl) denies (the truth, i.e. this Quran), and turns away? 13 Does he not realize that God sees him? 14 Yes certainly, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock. 15 By the lying, the sinful forelock. 16 Then let him call upon his henchmen! 17 We too would summon the braves of the army. 18 Nay! obey him not, and make obeisance and draw nigh (to Allah). ۩ 19
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.

ColorfulQuran.com displays pages in one of three Arabic fonts. Each may appear with a one-third chance, adding more diversity to the already diverse colors. And the words remain unchanged forever. ColorfulQuran.com will have more beautiful fonts soon, God willing.
