The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
(Muhammad), read in the name of your Lord who created (all things). 1 Created man, out of a (mere) clot of congealed blood: 2 Read! Your Lord is the Most Bountiful One 3 who taught by the pen, 4 Taught man that which he knew not. 5 No indeed; surely Man waxes insolent, 6 Because he considers himself self-sufficient. 7 Surely to your Lord is your return. 8 Hast thou seen him who dissuadeth 9 A servant when he prays? 10 Hast thou seen if he relieth on the guidance (of Allah) 11 or bade to godfearing -- 12 What is your opinion – if he denies and turns away, how wretched will be his state! 13 Does he not know that God sees? 14 Let him beware! If he does not desist, We will drag him by the forelock -- 15 A lying, sinful forelock! 16 Then let him call upon his henchmen! 17 We will call on the angels of punishment (to deal with him)! 18 No indeed! Do not obey him, but prostrate yourself and come closer to God. ۩ 19
God the Almighty always says the truth.
