The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Recite in the name of your Lord who created - 1 He created man from a clot of blood. 2 Read! Your Lord is the Most Generous, 3 He Who taught (the use of) the pen,- 4 taught Man that he knew not. 5 No indeed; surely Man waxes insolent, 6 That he thinketh himself independent! 7 Indeed, to your Lord is the return. 8 HAST THOU ever considered him who tries to prevent 9 a worshiper when he prays. 10 Have you seen if he was upon guidance 11 Or enjoins piety? 12 Bethinkest thou, if he belieth and turneth away? 13 Does he not know that Allah sees? 14 No indeed; surely, if he gives not over, We shall seize him by the forelock, 15 the lying, rebellious forehead! 16 So let him call his associates, 17 We also shall call the infernal guards. 18 No! Do not obey him. But prostrate and draw near [to Allah]. ۩ 19
