Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Greed for more and more distracted you [from God] 1 Until you visit the graveyards. 2 Yes certainly, you will soon realise! 3 And once again: Nay, in time you will come to understand! 4 No indeed; did you know with the knowledge of certainty, 5 You have indeed to behold Hell; 6 Aye, ye will behold it with sure vision. 7 Then, shall ye be questioned that Day about the joy (ye indulged in!). 8

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
