And assuredly We have created human being from ringing clay of loam moulded. 26 And the jinn We created before, of intensely hot fire. 27 But when your Lord said to the angels: "I am verily going to create a human being from fermented clay dried tingling hard; 28 When it is properly shaped and I have blown My Spirit into it, you should then bow down in prostration". 29 So the angels prostrated - all of them entirely, 30 except iblis (father of the jinn) who refused to be one of those who prostrated themselves. 31 Allah said: O Iblis! what aileth thou that thou art not with the prostrates? 32 (Iblis) said: "I am not one to prostrate myself to man, whom Thou didst create from sounding clay, from mud moulded into shape." 33 Said He: "Go forth, then, from this [angelic state]: for, behold, thou art [henceforth] accursed, 34 “And indeed you are accursed till the Day of Judgement.” 35 Iblis said: "My Lord! Grant me respite till the Day when they will be resurrected." 36 (Allah) said: "Respite is granted thee 37 till the appointed time. 38 [Iblees] said, "My Lord, because You have put me in error, I will surely make [disobedience] attractive to them on earth, and I will mislead them all 39 except the devoted amongst Your worshippers. 40 [Allah] said, "This is a path [of return] to Me [that is] straight. 41 over My servants thou shalt have no authority, except those that follow thee, 42 "And surely, Hell is the promised place for them all. 43 Seven gates it has, and unto each gate a set portion of them belongs.' 44
