The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers, 1 those who, in their Prayers, humble themselves; 2 And who do not incline towards indecent matters. 3 And who are givers of poor-rate, 4 And they who guard their private parts 5 Except from their wives or the legal bondwomen that they possess, for then there is no blame upon them. 6 But those who covet more than this will be transgressors; 7 And they who are to their trusts and their promises attentive 8 And those who strictly guard their (five compulsory congregational) Salawat (prayers) (at their fixed stated hours). 9 These are the heirs 10 Those who will get the inheritance of Paradise; they will abide in it forever. 11 And certainly We created man of an extract of clay, 12 Thereafter We made him of a sperm in a receptacle safe. 13 Then We fashioned the sperm into an embryo, then fashioned the embryo into a shapeless lump of flesh; then from the lump of flesh We fashioned bones, then clothed the bones with flesh. Thus We formed him into a new creation. So blessed be God the best of Creators. 14 Then lo! after that ye surely die. 15 Then you will all be raised on the Day of Resurrection. 16 We have created seven paths above you; We have never been unmindful of Our creation. 17 We have sent a measure of water from the sky to stay on earth and We have the power to take it away. 18 With it We grow for you gardens of date-palms and vines: in them have ye abundant fruits: and of them ye eat (and have enjoyment),- 19 And [We brought forth] a tree issuing from Mount Sinai which produces oil and food for those who eat. 20 And verily in the cattle for you is a lesson. We give you to drink of that which is in their bellies, and for you in them are advantages many, and of them ye eat. 21 And you are carried on them and on the ship. 22
