HENCE, [remember how it was] when thy Sustainer summoned Moses: "Go unto those evil doing people. 10 the people of Pharaoh, will they not fear God? 11 He said, 'My Lord, I fear they will cry me lies, 12 And I shall be embarrassed, and my tongue will not speak plainly, therefor send for Aaron (to help me). 13 Moreover, they keep a grave charge [pending] against me, and I fear that they will slay me." 14 The Lord said, "Have no fear, both of you go with Our miracles. We shall closely listen to you." 15 go both to Pharaoh and both of you say to him: 'We are (each) a Messenger from the Lord of all the Worlds. 16 Send the Israelites with us". 17 (Pharaoh) said: "Did we not cherish thee as a child among us, and didst thou not stay in our midst many years of thy life? 18 You spent many years of your life among us and then you committed that deed of yours. You are very ungrateful indeed." 19 Moses replied: "I committed that act erringly. 20 and I fled from you because I feared you. But [since] then my Sustainer has endowed me with the ability to judge [between right and wrong,] and has made me one of [His] message-bearers. 21 And that favour wherewith thou didst oblige me was that thou hadst enslaved the Children of Isra'il? 22 Pharaoh said: "And what is the 'Lord and Cherisher of the worlds'?" 23 (Moses) said: "The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, if you can believe." 24 Pharaoh said to those around him, "Did you hear?" 25 He said: Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers. 26 Fir'awn said: verily your apostle who hath been sent unto you is mad. 27 He said: The Lord of the east and the west and what is between them, if you understand. 28 Pharaoh said: "If you take any god other than me, I will certainly make you one of those (who are rotting) in prison." 29 Said Moosa, “Even if I bring to you something clear?” 30 (The Pharaoh) said: "Then bring it, if you speak the truth." 31 Then he cast down his staff, and lo! it was a serpent manifest. 32 And he drew out his hand, and behold, it was white to all beholders! 33
