۞ (Then will the command be given): “Muster all the wrong-doers and their spouses and the deities whom they used to serve 22 apart from God, and guide them unto the path of Hell! 23 And halt them, to be questioned: 24 "Why help you not one another?" 25 In fact, on that day they will be submissive. 26 And they will advance toward each other mutually questioning. 27 They will say, "You used to come at us from the right." 28 But they reply: 'Rather, you were not believers. 29 We had no authority over you, but you were an insolent nation. 30 So on us hath been justified the sentence of our Lord: verily we are to taste. 31 we perverted you, indeed, we were perverts' 32 Then verily, that Day, they will (all) share in the torment. 33 Surely thus do We deal with the guilty. 34 Indeed they, when it was said to them, "There is no deity but Allah," were arrogant 35 And (they) said: "Are we going to abandon our aliha (gods) for the sake of a mad poet? 36 Aye! he hath come with the truth, and he confesseth to the sent ones. 37 Now certainly you shall be tasting the painful chastisement, 38 You will only be recompensed according to your deeds.” 39 But the sincere servants of God 40 Those! theirs shall be a provision known: 41 fruits of various kinds; and they shall be honoured, 42 In gardens of pleasure 43 on couches facing each other. 44 Round them will be passed a cup of pure wine; 45 white, a delight to the drinkers, 46 but not harmful or intoxicating. 47 And with them will be women limiting [their] glances, with large, [beautiful] eyes, 48 so delicate as the hidden peel under an egg's shell. 49 They advance one upon another, asking each other questions. 50 A speaker of them saith: Lo! I had a comrade 51 "Who used to say, 'what! art thou amongst those who bear witness to the Truth (of the Message)? 52 "(That) when we die and become dust and bones, shall we indeed (be raised up) to receive reward or punishment (according to our deeds)?" 53 He said (to others on the thrones), “Will you take a glimpse (into hell) below?” 54 He will look down and see him in hell. 55 He saith: By Allah, thou verily didst all but cause my ruin, 56 If it had not been for the blessing of my Lord, I would also have been taken to Hell." 57 "Is it (the case) that we shall not die, 58 except for our first death? And shall we suffer no chastisement?'” 59 Verily this! that is the supreme achievement. 60 for which one must strive hard. 61 Is that the better entertainment or the Tree of Zaqqum? 62 We have made this tree a trial for the wrong-doers. 63 Indeed it is a tree that sprouts from the base of hell. 64 Its emerging fruit as if it was heads of the devils. 65 Truly, they will eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 Then most surely they shall have after it to drink of a mixture prepared in boiling water. 67 Then most surely their return shall be to hell. 68 They found their father going astray 69 So they (too) were rushed down on their footsteps! 70 So had many an earlier people gone astray, 71 And indeed We had sent Heralds of warnings among them. 72 See how those who were warned met their end! 73 Other than the chosen creatures of God. 74
