Al-Saaffaat 4 of 5
And We verily gave grace unto Moses and Aaron, 114 And We saved them and their people from the great distress; 115 We succoured them, and they gained the upper hand (against their enemies). 116 And We gave them both the Book that made (things) clear. 117 and guided them the straight way, 118 And We left for them among the later folk (the salutation): 119 "Peace be upon Moses and Aaron!" 120 That is how We reward those who do good. 121 They were among Our believing worshipers. 122 And indeed Ilyas is one of the Noble Messengers. 123 when he spoke [thus] to his people: "Will you not remain conscious of God? 124 Do you call on Baal and abandon the Best of Creators, 125 Allah, your Lord and Lord of your forefathers? 126 But they gave him the lie: and therefore they will most surely be arraigned [on Judgment Day,] 127 except Allah's chosen servants. 128 And We left for him among the posterity: 129 "Peace be on Elijah and his people!" 130 That is how We reward those who do good. 131 Verily he was one of Our bondmen believing. 132 Lot was certainly a Messenger. 133 (Call to mind) when We delivered him and all his kinsfolk, 134 Except his wife among those who remained [with the evildoers]. 135 Then We destroyed the rest. 136 and you pass by them in the morning 137 And at night; do you not then understand? 138

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
