The Stars (Al-Najm)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the Star when it goes down,- 1 Your companion did not err, nor did he go astray. 2 Neither does he speak of his own will. 3 It is but a divine revelation, which is revealed to him. 4 Taught to him by one intense in strength - 5 The Strong; then the Spectacle inclined towards him. 6 being on the higher horizon, 7 Then he drew near, then he bowed 8 two bows' length away, or nearer, 9 Thus He revealed unto His bondman whatsoever He revealed. 10 His heart added no untruth to what he saw. 11 Will you then dispute with him (Muhammad SAW) about what he saw [during the Mi'raj: (Ascent of the Prophet SAW over the seven heavens)]. 12 And assuredly he saw him at another descent. 13 at the Lote Tree (Sidrat tree) of the ending 14 Close to which is the Garden of Tranquility, 15 Behold, the Lote-tree was shrouded (in mystery unspeakable!) 16 Neither did sight falter nor exceed the bounds. 17 Assuredly he beheld of the sign of his Lord, the greatest. 18 Have you ever thought about al-Lat and al-Uzza, 19 and about the third deity, al-Manat? 20 Why - for yourselves [you would choose only] male offspring, whereas to Him [you assign] female: 21 That, then, is an unjust division. 22 These are nothing but names which ye have devised,- ye and your fathers,- for which Allah has sent down no authority (whatever). They follow nothing but conjecture and what their own souls desire!- Even though there has already come to them Guidance from their Lord! 23 Does man imagine that it is his due to have all that he might wish for, 24 To Allah belongs the Eternal life and the first life. 25
