The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the Event will come to pass 1 Then none will be able to deny its occurrence. 2 Degrading (some) and exalting (others); 3 When the earth is shaken 4 and the mountains are shattered into [countless] shards, 5 and will scatter abroad into fine dust. 6 On that day, you (mankind) will be divided into three groups: 7 The people of the right hand - those whose books of records will be placed in their right hands. How happy they will be! 8 And those on the left hand; how miserable shall those on the left hand be! 9 And those foremost [(in Islamic Faith of Monotheism and in performing righteous deeds) in the life of this world on the very first call for to embrace Islam,] will be foremost (in Paradise). 10 It is they who are the close ones. 11 In the Gardens of Pleasure, 12 A multitude of those (foremost) will be from the first generations (who embraced Islam). 13 and how few of the later folk) 14 On lined couches, 15 Reclining thereon, face to face. 16 There will circulate among them young boys made eternal 17 With cups, and jugs, and a glass from the flowing wine, 18 Whereby there shall be neither headiness nor will they be inebriated. 19 And with fruit from that which they choose. 20 And meat of birds that they may wish. 21 And pure, beautiful ones, 22 like the pearls in their shells: 23 A Reward for the deeds of their past (life). 24 They will not hear therein ill speech or commission of sin - 25 Only the saying, "Peace! Peace". 26 As for the People on the Right, how fortunate shall be the people on the Right! 27 Among thorn-less lote-trees. 28 and banana trees, 29 And spreading shade, 30 and outpoured waters, 31 And fruit, abundant [and varied], 32 Neither limited [to season] nor forbidden, 33 And [upon] beds raised high. 34 We have formed them in a distinctive fashion, 35 And made them virgins, 36 The beloved of their husbands, of one age. 37 for the people of the right hand 38
