Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the winds (or angels or the Messengers of Allah) sent forth one after another. 1 And the winds that blow violently 2 Which scatter clouds to their destined places, 3 And by the Verses (of the Quran) that separate the right from the wrong. 4 And those [angels] who deliver a message 5 To clear or to warn. 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 So when the stars are made to lose their light, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 when the mountains shall be scattered 10 and when the Messengers' time is set, 11 for what Day has this been appointed? 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 And what will convey unto thee what the Day of Decision is! - 14 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth. 15 Did We not destroy the ancients? 16 Then did We follow them up with later ones. 17 Thus do We deal with the Mujrimun (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, criminals, etc.)! 18 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 19 Did We not create you from a liquid disdained? 20 And We placed it in a firm lodging 21 for an appointed term? 22 Thus have We determined [the nature of man's creation]: and excellent indeed is Our power to determine [what is to be]! 23 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 24 Have We not made the earth a repository 25 for the living and the dead, 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and given you fresh water to drink? 27 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 28 (It will be said:) "Depart ye to that which ye used to reject as false! 29 Proceed to a shadow rising in three columns: 30 "Neither shading, nor of any use against the fierce flame of the Fire." 31 Surely it sends up sparks like palaces, 32 like giant fiery ropes! 33 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 34 This is the day they shall not speak 35 And permission shall not be given to them so that they should offer excuses. 36 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 If you are cunning, then try your cunning against Me! 39 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 40
