The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
CONSIDER those [stars] that rise only to set, 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 And by those who float in space, 3 And who quickly present themselves. 4 Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 They say: “That will then be a return with a great loss!” 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 and then, lo, they will be fully awakened [to the truth]! 14 Has the story of Moses come to you 15 Recall what time his Lord called unto him in the holy vale of Tuwa. 16 "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 and hastily turned away, 22 then, he gathered, proclaimed, 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. 26
