The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 And when the wild animals are made to go forth, 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 And when souls are united, 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 When the Blazing Fire is kindled to fierce heat; 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And the close of night, 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 of power, given a rank by the Owner of the Throne 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 Whither, then, will you go? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
