The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 When the stars fall, losing their lustre; 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned, 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 For what crime she was put to death; 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 And when the sky is torn away, 11 And when Hell-fire shall be kindled to fierce ablaze. 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 Oh, but I call to witness the planets, 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger 19 with strength endowed, secure with Him who in almightiness is enthroned 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 Your companion (Muhammad) does not suffer from any mental illness 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
