The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
WHEN THE SUN is shrouded in darkness, 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 when the savage beasts shall be brought together, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 And when the souls are paired 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 And when the pages are made public 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 then shall a soul know what it has produced. 14 Oh, but I call to witness the planets, 15 The planets withdrawing into themselves, 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 And the Dawn as it breathes away the darkness;- 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. 21 And (O people) your companion (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is not a madman; 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 and he is not one to begrudge others the knowledge [of whatever has been revealed to him] out of that which is beyond the reach of human Perception. 24 Nor is it the word of an evil spirit accursed. 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
