The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 hearing and obeying its Lord, as it must do; 2 when earth is stretched out 3 And hath cast out all that was in her, and is empty 4 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must: 5 O mankind, indeed you are laboring toward your Lord with [great] exertion and will meet it. 6 And he who is given his ledger in his right hand 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 And he shall return unto his people joyfully. 9 But he who is given his Record behind his back,- 10 He surely will invoke destruction 11 and will enter the Blazing Fire. 12 He lived rejoicing among his people, 13 Truly, did he think that he would not have to return (to Us)! 14 Surely yes, why not? Indeed his Lord is seeing him. 15 So I swear by the afterglow of sunset; 16 The Night and its Homing; 17 And by oath of the moon when it is full. 18 Ye shall surely travel from stage to stage. 19 What aileth them then, that they believe not, 20 and when the Koran is recited to them that they do not prostrate! ۩ 21 Yea those who disbelieve belie. 22 And Allah is most knowing of what they keep within themselves. 23 So give them tidings of a painful punishment, 24 except to those who believe, and do righteous deeds, for theirs is an unfailing recompense. 25
