The Companions of the Wood rejected the messengers. 176 When Shu'aib said to them: "Will you not take heed? 177 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 178 so fear God, and obey me. 179 “And I do not ask from you any fee for it; my reward is only upon the Lord Of The Creation.” 180 ۞ "Maintain just measure in your business and do not cause loss to others. 181 Weigh your goods with proper balance 182 "And defraud not people by reducing their things, nor do evil, making corruption and mischief in the land. 183 Fear Him who created you, and the generations of the ancients.' 184 They said: "You are only one of those bewitched! 185 And thou art but a human being like unto us, and we deem thee to be of the liars. 186 Cause, then, fragments of the sky to fall down upon us, if thou art a man of truth!" 187 Shuayb said: "My Lord knows well all what you do." 188 But they called him a liar, so the punishment of the day of covering overtook them; surely it was the punishment of a grievous day. 189 Lo! herein is indeed a portent; yet most of them are not believers. 190 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 191
