And remember Our bondman Ayyub (Job); when he cried out* to his Lord, “The devil has struck me with hardship and pain.” (After seven years of patience.) 41 Stamp the ground with thy foot, yonder is water to wash in, cool, and water to drink. 42 And We granted him his family and a like [number] with them as mercy from Us and a reminder for those of understanding. 43 "And take in thy hand a little grass, and strike therewith: and break not (thy oath)." Truly We found him full of patience and constancy. How excellent in Our service! ever did he turn (to Us)! 44 Remember Our servants Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob -- possessors of strength and vision. 45 Verily We exalted them in consideration of a sterling quality: their remembrance of the Abode of the Hereafter. 46 and, in Our sight they were indeed among the select, the truly good! 47 And remember Ishmael, Elisha and Dhul-Kifl, and all are among the outstanding. 48 This is a commemoration. Surely for those who take heed for themselves is an excellent place of return -- 49 #NAME? 50 in which they will recline, and call for abundant fruit and drink therein. 51 ۞ and with them maidens restraining their glances of equal age. 52 This is what they had been promised for the Day of Judgment. 53 this is Our unending provision' 54 All this [for the righteous]: but, verily, the most evil of all goals awaits those who are wont to transgress the bounds of what is right: 55 Hell!- they will burn therein, - an evil bed (indeed, to lie on)!- 56 All this (is for them); so let them taste boiling water and pus, 57 and, coupled with it, further [suffering] of a similar nature. 58 Here is a multitude rushing headlong with you. There is no welcome for them. They will roast in the fire. 59 The followers will say, “In fact, for you! May you not get open space! It is you who brought this calamity upon us!” So what a wretched destination. 60 They will say: "Our Lord! whoever brought this upon us,- Add to him a double Penalty in the Fire!" 61 And they say, “What is the matter with us that we do not see the men whom we thought were evil?” 62 Was it that we (only) took them in scorn, or have our eyes (now) turned aside from them? 63 That most surely is the truth: the contending one with another of the inmates of the fire. 64
