And verily it is a revelation of the Lord of the worlds. 192 The honest Spirit (Gabriel) brought it down 193 upon thy heart, that thou mayest be one of the warners, 194 In the perspicuous Arabic tongue. 195 And verily, [the essence of] this [revelation] is indeed found in the ancient books of divine wisdom [as well]. 196 Is not the fact (that the Israelite scholars already knew about the Quran through their Book) sufficient evidence for the pagans of the truthfulness (of the Quran)? 197 And had We sent it down upon a person other than an Arab, 198 And he had recited it unto them, they would not have believed in it. 199 We have thus caused denial of truth to enter into the hearts of the sinners: 200 They will not believe therein until they behold the torment afflictive. 201 so that it will come upon them suddenly, while they are unaware, 202 Then they will exclaim, "Could we have some respite?" 203 Would they then wish for Our Torment to be hastened on? 204 Have you then considered if We let them enjoy themselves for years, 205 Then there comes to them that with which they are threatened, 206 So of what benefit will be the comforts that they were using? 207 And We did not destroy any town but it had (its) warners, 208 To remind, and We are never unjust. 209 And this Qur’an was not brought down by the devils. 210 It is not meet for them, nor is it in their power, 211 Truly, they are expelled from hearing. 212 So call not on any other god with Allah, or thou wilt be among those under the Penalty. 213 And warn thy clan, thy nearest kin. 214 And take those believers under your wing who follow you. 215 Then if they disobey thee, say: "I am free (of responsibility) for what ye do!" 216 Put your trust in the Almighty, the Most Merciful, 217 Who seeth thee when thou standest up 218 and [sees] thy behaviour among those who prostrate themselves [before Him]: 219 For it is He Who heareth and knoweth all things. 220 Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend? 221 They descend upon every sinful liar. 222 Who listens to you (for spreading rumours); but most of them are liars. 223 And as for the poets [they, too, are prone to deceive themselves: and so, only] those who are lost in grievous error would follow them. 224 Do you not see that in every valley they roam 225 and preaching what they themselves never practice. 226 Save those that believe, and do righteous deeds, and remember God oft, and help themselves after being wronged; and those who do wrong shall surely know by what overturning they will be overturned. 227
Almighty God's Truth.
