The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Surely there hath come upon man a space of time when he was not a thing worth mentioning. 1 Verily We! We created man from a sperm of mixtures, that We might prove him, wherefore We made him hearing, seeing. 2 Surely We have shown him the way: he may be thankful or unthankful. 3 Verily, We have prepared for the disbelievers iron chains, iron collars, and a blazing Fire. 4 the righteous shall drink from a cup mixed with the coolness of kafur, 5 The Kafoor is a spring, from which the chosen bondmen of Allah will drink, causing it to flow wherever they wish inside their palaces. 6 Those who fulfil their vows and fear the Day whose evil shall be diffused far and wide, 7 They feed the destitute, orphans, and captives for the love of God, saying, 8 [Saying], "We feed you only for the countenance of Allah. We wish not from you reward or gratitude. 9 Lo! we fear from our Lord a day of frowning and of fate. 10 So Allah will protect them from the evil of that Day and give them radiance and happiness 11 And gave them Paradise and silk clothes, as a reward for their patience. 12 Reclining upon couches, they will find therein neither the heat of the sun nor bitter, biting cold, 13 since its [blissful] shades will come down low over them, and low will hang down its clusters of fruit, most easy to reach. 14 They will be served with silver dishes and crystal clear goblets. 15 and gleaming silver goblets which have been filled to the exact measure, 16 and they will be given a cup to drink flavoured with ginger, 17 from a flowing spring called Salsabil. 18 ۞ And immortal youths will wait upon them: when thou seest them, thou wouldst deem them to be scattered pearls; 19 When you see them, you see bliss, and a great Kingdom. 20 Upon them there will be garments of green silk, rich brocade, and they will be adorned with bracelets of silver. Their Lord will give them a pure beverage to drink. 21 [And it will be said], "Indeed, this is for you a reward, and your effort has been appreciated." 22
