The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the night, when it envelops, 1 And by the day as it appears in brightness; 2 And Him Who hath created male and female, 3 your striving is indeed to different ends! 4 So he who gives (in charity) and fears (Allah), 5 and believes in the truth of the ultimate good 6 We will pave his way to ease. 7 But as for him who is a miser, and self-sufficient, 8 and denied the Truth of goodness: 9 Unto him therefore We shall Indeed make easy the path to hardship. 10 his wealth shall not avail him when he perishes. 11 Indeed, Guidance is Ours, 12 And to Us belong the End and the Beginning. 13 I have warned you then about a raging Fire: 14 None will [enter to] burn therein except the most wretched one. 15 who rejected the Truth, calling it falsehood and turned his back on it. 16 The pious ones will be safe from this fire 17 one who gives his wealth to become purified, 18 and owes no favour to anyone, which is to be repaid, 19 Except the seeking of the pleasure of his Lord, the Most High. 20 Will surely be gratified. 21
Almighty God's Truth.
