The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By those that pluck out vehemently 1 by the drawers (the angels of death), gently drawing (the souls of the believers), 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 Then those who are foremost going ahead, 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 But it shall be only a single cry, 13 And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; 18 And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 Yet he belied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 and then he gathered [his great ones,] and called [unto his people,] 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
