A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Lam. Mim. Sad. 1 This is a Book revealed to you. Let there be no impediment in your heart about it. (It has been revealed to you) that you may thereby warn [the unbelievers], that it may be a reminder to the believers. 2 [Say (O Muhammad SAW) to these idolaters (pagan Arabs) of your folk:] Follow what has been sent down unto you from your Lord (the Quran and Prophet Muhammad's Sunnah), and follow not any Auliya' (protectors and helpers, etc. who order you to associate partners in worship with Allah), besides Him (Allah). Little do you remember! 3 And how many a township We have destroyed, upon them Our violence came at night or while they were taking their midday rest. 4 When (thus) Our punishment took them, no cry did they utter but this: "Indeed we did wrong." 5 Thus, [on Judgment Day] We shall most certainly call to account all those unto whom a [divine] message was sent, and We shall most certainly call to account the message-bearers [themselves]; 6 We will tell them with absolute certainty (what they had done) for We had never been absent from them (during their lifetime). 7 On that Day, the weighing is true. He whose scales are heavy those are the prosperers, 8 And whosesoever balances will be light - those are they who have lost themselves in respect of Our signs. 9 And indeed We established you in the earth and in it created for you the means of livelihood; very little thanks do you offer! 10
