And recite to them the news of Abraham. 69 [how it was] when he asked his father and his people, "What is it that you worship?" 70 They said: "We worship idols, and to them we are ever devoted." 71 He said: hearken they unto you when ye cry? 72 “Or do they benefit you or harm you?” 73 They answered: "No; but we found our forefathers doing so." 74 Thereupon, Abraham said: "Have you seen (with your eyes) those whom you have been worshipping, 75 you and your fathers, the elders? 76 Lo! they are (all) an enemy unto me, save the Lord of the Worlds, 77 who created me, and Himself guides me, 78 And He Who gives me to eat and gives me to drink: 79 who, when I am sick, heals me; 80 And Who causeth me to die, then giveth me life (again), 81 And Who, I ardently hope, will forgive me my sin on the Day of Judgment. 82 Lord, grant me authority. Join me to the righteous ones. 83 And ordain for me a goodly mention among posterity 84 and make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss; 85 "And forgive my father - for, verily, he is among those who have gone astray 86 and do not disgrace me on the Day when all people are resurrected, 87 the Day when nothing will avail, neither wealth nor offspring, 88 Unless it be he, who shall bring unto Allah a whole heart, 89 And the Garden shall be brought nigh to the God-fearing. 90 And the Fierce Fire shall be made apparent unto the seduced ones. 91 "And it shall be said to them: 'Where are the (gods) ye worshipped- 92 other than Allah? Do they help you or even help themselves' 93 "Then they will be thrown headlong into the (Fire),- they and those straying in Evil, 94 and Satan's legions, all together. 95 And they will say, when they are quarrelling therein: 96 By Allah, we have indeed been in an error manifest. 97 "'When we held you as equals with the Lord of the Worlds; 98 "'And our seducers were only those who were steeped in guilt. 99 "'Now, then, we have none to intercede (for us), 100 "'Nor a single friend to feel (for us). 101 Would that we had a second chance [in life,] so that we could be among the believers!" 102 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 103 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 104

Notes and Instructions
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
