Hizb 46
< random >
Jonah was certainly a Messenger. 139 When he ran away to a ship completely laden, 140 So he shared (with them), but was of those who are cast off. 141 So the whale swallowed him, for he was blameworthy, 142 Had he not been one of those who glorify Allah, 143 He would have stayed in its belly till the day the dead are raised. 144 ۞ but We cast him upon the wilderness, and he was sick, 145 and We caused a gourd tree to grow over him. 146 and We sent him forth to a nation of a hundred thousand or more, 147 And they believed; so We permitted them to enjoy (their life) for a while. 148 Now ask them (O Muhammad): Hath thy Lord daughters whereas they have sons? 149 Or, did We create the angels females while they were witnessing? 150 Is it not that they say, from their own invention, 151 'God has begotten a son.' They are certainly liars. 152 Does He prefer sons to daughters? 153 What is the matter with you that you make such strange judgements? 154 Will you not then mind? 155 Or have you, perchance, a clear evidence [for your assertions]? 156 Bring your Book, if you speak truly! 157 They assert kinship between Him and the angels. But the angels know that they (the liars) will be arraigned (in Hell). 158 God is far above what they attribute to Him, 159 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 160 for, verily, neither you [blasphemers] nor the objects of your worship 161 Cannot lead astray [turn away from Him (Allah) anyone of the believers], 162 unless it be such as rushes towards the blazing fire [of his own accord]! 163 Of us there is none but hath a station assigned. 164 We are surely those who are arranged in ranks. 165 And we are most surely they who declare the glory (of Allah). 166 And indeed they (Arab pagans) used to say; 167 Had we a reminder from those of yore, 168 we would certainly be true servants of God." 169 Yet now (that it has come) they refuse to believe in it; but they will come to know soon. 170 Already Our Word has preceded to Our servants, the Envoys; 171 Most surely they shall be the assisted ones 172 And verily Our host! they are to be overcome. 173 (Muhammad), stay away from them for a while 174 And see [what will befall] them, for they are going to see. 175 Do they seek to hasten Our chastisement? 176 But then, once it alights upon them, hapless will be the awakening of those who were warned [to no avail]! 177 So turn thou from them for a while, 178 And see thou: they themselves shall presently see. 179 Exalted is your Lord, the Lord of might, above what they describe. 180 And peace be upon all His message-bearers! 181 And Praise to Allah, the Lord and Cherisher of the Worlds. 182
Almighty Allah's Truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
