and We delivered the Children of Israel from the humbling chastisement, 30 From Pharaoh. Indeed, he was a haughty one among the transgressors. 31 And We chose them (the Children of Israel) above the 'Alamin (mankind, and jinns) [during the time of Musa (Moses)] with knowledge, 32 And granted them signs in which there was a plain trial. 33 Yet these say: 34 "There is nothing beyond our first death, and we shall not be raised again. 35 “Therefore bring back our forefathers, if you are truthful!” 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba and those afore them? We destroyed them; verily they were culprits. 37 And We did not create the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, just for play. 38 We did not create them except in Truth. But most of them do not know. 39 The appointed time for all of them will be the Day of Judgment 40 The day on which, no friends will benefit each other at all, nor will they be helped. (Except those who are pious – see verse 43:67) 41 save those upon whom God will have bestowed His grace and mercy: for, verily, He alone is almighty, a dispenser of grace. 42
