The Moon (Al-Qamar)
55 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Comet (Al-Taareq) before S (Saad)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
The Hour has drawn nigh: the moon is split. 1 And if they see a miracle, they turn away and say, "Passing magic." 2 And they denied and followed their own desires, whereas each matter has been decided! 3 And indeed there has come to them news (in this Quran) wherein there is (enough warning) to check (them from evil), 4 Consummate wisdom-- but warnings do not avail; 5 Therefore, turn away from them. On the Day when the Caller summons them to a terrible thing, 6 they will come out of their graves, their eyes cast down, hastening towards their Summoner as locusts rushing about. 7 Hastening towards the caller, the disbelievers will say: "This is a hard Day." 8 ۞ The people of Noah had denied before them, and had called Our votary a liar, and said: "He is possessed," and repulsed him. 9 Then he called on his Lord: "I am one overcome: do Thou then help (me)!" 10 Then We opened the portals of heaven with water poured out. 11 And caused the earth to gush forth springs, so that the waters met for a predestined purpose. 12 And We carried him upon a thing of planks and nails, 13 and it floated under Our eyes: a recompense for him who had been rejected with ingratitude. 14 And certainly We left it as a sign, but is there anyone who 15 How terrible was My torment and the result of (their disregard) of My warning. 16 And We have indeed made the Qur’an easy to memorise, so is there one who would remember? 17 (The tribe of) A'ad rejected warnings. Then how (dreadful) was My punishment after My warnings. 18 Verily We! We sent against them a raging wind on a day of calamity continuous. 19 Extracting the people as if they were trunks of palm trees uprooted. 20 How then were My punishment and My warnings! 21 We have made the Qur'an easy to derive lessons from. Is there, then, any who will take heed? 22

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
