Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ OH, THE LAYING-BARE of the truth! 1 What is the Reality? 2 And what do you know what that indubitable event is? 3 Thamud and 'Ad people denied the Qari'ah [the striking Hour (of Judgement)]! 4 the Thamud were destroyed by a terrible storm of thunder and lightning; 5 And as for 'Ad, they were destroyed by a furious violent wind; 6 Which He imposed on them for seven long nights and eight long days so that thou mightest have seen men lying overthrown, as they were hollow trunks of palm-trees. 7 Do you see any remnants of them? 8 And Firaun, and those before him, and the dwellings that were inverted and thrown, had brought error. 9 And disobeyed (each) the messenger of their Lord; so He punished them with an abundant Penalty. 10 Lo! when the waters rose, We carried you upon the ship 11 That We might make it a Message unto you, and that ears (that should hear the tale and) retain its memory should bear its (lessons) in remembrance. 12 So when the Trumpet will be blown, with a sudden single blow. 13 when the earth with all its mountains is lifted up and crushed with a single blow, 14 on that Day shall that indubitable event come to pass; 15 And the sky will be rent asunder, for it will that Day be flimsy, 16 And the angels will be on its sides, and eight angels will, that Day, bear the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 That Day, you will be exhibited [for judgement]; not hidden among you is anything concealed. 18 Then he that will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Ah here! Read ye my Record! 19 Behold, I did know that [one day] I would have to face my account! 20 Then he will be in blissful state 21 in a lofty Garden 22 the clusters of whose fruit will be hanging low to be within reach (of the inmates of Paradise). 23 [And all who are thus blest will be told:] "Eat and drink with good cheer in return for all [the good deeds] that you have sent ahead in days gone by!" 24 And whoever is given his book in his left hand – he will say, “Alas, if only my account were not given to me!” 25 "And that I had never realised how my account (stood)! 26 "I wish, would that it had been my end (death)! 27 Of no use was even my wealth. 28 Gone from me is my authority." 29 (It will be said): 'Take him and bind him. 30 Then cast him into the burning fire, 31 Then, in a chain whereof the length is seventy Cubits, bind him. 32 “Indeed he refused to accept faith in Allah, the Greatest.” 33 And urged not on the feeding of Al-Miskin (the poor), 34 therefore he today has not here one loyal friend, 35 Nor food other than suppuration (filth) 36 which none but the sinners eat!" 37
