Al-Takweer
The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 when the mountains shall be set moving, 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 And when the wild animals are made to go forth, 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 And when souls are united, 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 [on that Day] every human being will come to know what he has prepared [for himself]. 14 BUT NAY! I call to witness the revolving stars, 15 The planets withdrawing into themselves, 16 and the night that falls, 17 The rising dawn, 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 [the word] of one to be heeded, and worthy of trust! 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of an evil spirit accursed. 25 So where are you going? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
True are the words of God the Almighty.
