The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
When the sunlight is rolled up. 1 The stars turn dim and scatter, 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 And when the she-camels big with young shall be abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what sin she was killed 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 And by the night as it departs; 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 obeyed by (all creatures) and faithful to His trust. 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 And the Qur’an is not the recitation of Satan the outcast. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 to every one of you who wishes to tread the straight path. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Sustainer of all the worlds, wills [to show you that way]. 29
