The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is split asunder, 1 and obeys its Lord as it must, 2 when earth is stretched out 3 and casts out all that is within and voids itself, 4 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should. 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 Then as to him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 he will in time be called to account with an easy accounting, 8 And will return unto his folk in joy. 9 But as for those whose Book of records will be given behind their backs, 10 He will cry out for destruction 11 And will go into the blazing fire. 12 He verily lived joyous with his folk, 13 Verily he imagined that he would not be back. 14 But yes! Indeed, his Lord was ever of him, Seeing. 15 But nay! I swear by the sunset redness, 16 And the night and all it gathers, 17 by the moon, in its fullness 18 that you shall surely ride from stage to stage. 19 But what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 Why, when the Quran is recited to them, do they not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 Nay! those who disbelieve give the lie to the truth. 22 But Allah has full knowledge of what they secrete (in their breasts) 23 So announce to them a painful torment. 24 But those who believe and work righteous works, theirs shall be a hire unending. 25
