Believers, do not devour usury multiplied many times over. Fear God, so that you may prosper, 130 guard yourself against the Fire prepared for those who deny the truth, 131 And obey Allah and the Apostle, that you may be shown mercy. 132 ۞ And march forth in the way (which leads to) forgiveness from your Lord, and for Paradise as wide as are the heavens and the earth, prepared for Al-Muttaqun (the pious - see V. 2:2). 133 Who expend both in joy and tribulation, who suppress their anger and pardon their fellowmen; and God loves those who are upright and do good, 134 And those who, when they do an evil thing or wrong themselves, remember Allah and implore forgiveness for their sins - Who forgiveth sins save Allah only? - and will not knowingly repeat (the wrong) they did. 135 The reward of such will be forgiveness from their Lord, and Gardens underneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide for ever - a bountiful reward for workers! 136 Indeed there have been examples before you; therefore travel in the earth and see what was the end of the rejecters. 137 This is a clear declaration for mankind, and a guidance and a warning for those who preserve themselves from evil. 138 Faint not nor grieve, for ye will overcome them if ye are (indeed) believers. 139 If a wound touches you, a similar wound already has touched the nation. Such days We alternate between the people so that Allah knows those who believe, and that He will take witnesses from among you, for Allah does not love the harmdoers, 140 so that God may purge those who believe and wipe out those who deny the truth. 141 Do you suppose that you would enter the Garden, without God knowing those among you who would strive hard for His cause and endure with fortitude? 142 You did indeed wish for death (Ash-Shahadah - martyrdom) before you met it. Now you have seen it openly with your own eyes. 143
