The people of Lut belied the sent ones. 160 when their brother Lot said to them, 'Will you not be godfearing? 161 "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust. 162 Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me: 163 "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the lord of the Worlds. 164 Go ye in, of all creatures, unto the males? 165 instead of your wives, whom your Lord has created specially for you? You are a transgressing people." 166 They said: "O Lot! If you do not desist, you will be one of those expelled (from our towns)." 167 He said: "I am, indeed, of those who disapprove with severe anger and fury your (this evil) action (of sodomy). 168 My Lord! Save me and my household from what they do. 169 So We saved him and his whole family 170 Except an old woman, among those who remained behind. 171 But the rest We destroyed utterly. 172 And We rained upon them a rain [of stones], and evil was the rain of those who were warned. 173 Surely in this there is a sign: but most of them would not believe: 174 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 175
