Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace

Perdition overtake both hands of Abu Lahab, and he will perish. 1 What will his wealth avail him, and all that he has gained? 2 Surely, he will be cast into a Flaming Fire 3 And so will his wife; carrying a bundle of firewood on her head. 4 [who bears] around her neck a rope of twisted strands! 5

True are the words of God the Almighty.
