Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Has the news of the overwhelming event reached you? 1 On that Day faces shall be humbled, 2 troubled and tired as a result of their deeds in the past. 3 They will enter in the hot blazing Fire, 4 Made to drink water from the boiling hot spring. 5 No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' 6 Which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. 7 Faces on that Day shall be delighted, 8 Glad for their effort past, 9 They will be in a lofty Garden 10 hearing there no babble; 11 Therein is a fountain flowing, 12 Therein will be thrones raised high, 13 Goblets set, 14 And cushions ranged! 15 And silken carpets spread. 16 Look they not at the camels, how they are created? 17 And the heavens, how it was raised high; 18 And at the mountains, how they are rooted? 19 and on the earth, how it is spread out? 20 So remind them (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)), you are only a one who reminds. 21 You are not charged to oversee them. 22 Save the one who turns away and disbelieves 23 God shall chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 For to Us will be their return; 25 And Ours their reckoning. 26
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
