The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
When the sun is covered, 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 And when the seas are set on fire, 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 And when the pages are made public 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright, 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 [on that Day] every human being will come to know what he has prepared [for himself]. 14 BUT NAY! I call to witness the revolving stars, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 Whither, then, will you go? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 Though you cannot desire except as God will, the Lord of all the worlds. 29
