The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 And those who undo the bonds gently, 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 By the angels hastening, 4 And by those angels who arrange to do the Commands of their Lord, (so verily, you disbelievers will be called to account). 5 On the day when the trembling one will tremble. (The disbelievers will certainly taste the punishment.) 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 hearts will be throbbing, 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They said, “So this return is an obvious loss!” 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called to him in Tuwa's holy vale? 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 So he showed him the greater sign; 20 But [Pharaoh] gave him the lie and rebelliously rejected [all guidance,] 21 Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 you pay attention 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
