Proclaim, “Travel in the land, and see what sort of fate befell those who denied.” 11 Say, "To whom belongs all that is in the heavens and earth?" Say, "To God. He has taken it upon Himself to be merciful. That He will gather you on the Day of Resurrection is beyond all doubt. Those who have forfeited their souls will never have faith." 12 ۞ To Him belongs all that rests during the night and the day. He is All-hearing and All-knowing." 13 Say: "Shall I take for my protector any other than Allah, the Maker of the heavens and the earth? And He it is that feedeth but is not fed." Say: "Nay! but I am commanded to be the first of those who bow to Allah (in Islam), and be not thou of the company of those who join gods with Allah." 14 Say: "Behold, I would dread, were I [thus] to rebel against my Sustainer, the suffering [which would befall me] on that awesome Day [of Judgment]." 15 He from whom it is averted on that day, Allah indeed has shown mercy to him; and this is a manifest achievement. 16 (Muhammad), if God afflicts you with hardship, no one besides Him will be able to relieve you. If He bestows a favor on you, know that He has power over all things. 17 It is He who prevails over His creatures, and He is all-wise and aware. 18 Ask them, "What carries the most weight as a witness?" Tell them it is God. He is a witness between you and me. Say, "This Quran has been revealed to me so that through it I may warn you and whoever it reaches. Do you really bear witness that there are other deities beside God?" Say, "I do not bear witness to this." Say, "He is only one God, and I disown whatever you associate with Him." 19 Those whom We have given the Book will recognize this just as they recognize their own ofspring; but those who have courted their own ruin will not believe. 20
