The dwellers of the Thicket belied their Messengers. 176 Behold, Shu'aib said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)? 177 I am for you a faithful Messenger, so fear you God, and obey you me. 178 So keep your duty to Allah and obey me. 179 "And no reward whatever do I ask of you for it: my reward rests with none but the Sustainer of all the worlds. 180 ۞ Give a full measure and be not of those who diminish; 181 Weigh with correct scales: 182 And defraud not people of their things, and commit not corruption on the earth. 183 And fear He who created you and the former creation." 184 They said: "Surely you are deluded. 185 You are nothing but a man like us, and we think you are a liar. 186 So cause a fragment of the sky to fall on us, if you are truthful." 187 (Shu'aib) said: "My Lord knows well what you are doing." 188 Then they belied him; wherefore there laid hold of them the torment of day of shadow. Verily it was the torment of a Mighty Day. 189 Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 190 And lo! thy Lord! He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 191
