The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Woe to every scorner and mocker 1 Who hath gathered wealth (of this world) and arranged it. 2 He thinks that his wealth will make him immortal. 3 No indeed; he shall be thrust into the Crusher; 4 Would that you understood what that crushing torment is like. 5 (It is) the fire of Allah, kindled, 6 roaring over the hearts 7 covered down upon them, 8 In columns outstretched. 9

True are the words of God the Almighty.
