In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Kaf-Ha-Ya-A’in-Sad. (* Alphabets of the Arabic language – Allah and to whomever He reveals know their precise meanings.) 1 This is an account of the mercy of your Lord to His servant Zechariah 2 When he called to his Lord inwardly, 3 "Lord, my bones have weakened and my head has turned hoary with age, but never, Lord, have I been disappointed in my prayer to you: 4 And indeed, I fear the successors after me, and my wife has been barren, so give me from Yourself an heir 5 to be my heir and to be the heir [of the blessings] of the House of Jacob; and make him, O my Lord, acceptable to you." 6 (It was said unto him): O Zachariah! Lo! We bring thee tidings of a son whose name is John; We have given the same name to none before (him). 7 He said: "O my Lord! How shall I have a son, when my wife is barren and I have grown quite decrepit from old age?" 8 He answered: "So shall it be." Your Lord says: "It is easy for Me," and then added: "For beyond doubt, I created you earlier when you were nothing." 9 He said: "O Lord, give me a token." "Though sound," He answered, "you will not talk to any one for three nights running." 10 So he went forth to his people from his place of worship, then he made known to them that they should glorify (Allah) morning and evening. 11 [Allah] said, "O John, take the Scripture with determination." And We gave him judgement [while yet] a boy 12 And (made him) sympathetic to men as a mercy (or a grant) from Us, and pure from sins [i.e. Yahya (John)] and he was righteous, 13 and dutiful towards his parents and was not haughty or disobedient. 14 Peace be on him on the day of his birth, and on the day of his death, and peace will be on him on the day he is raised up to life again. 15

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
