The dwellers of the forest also rejected the Messengers. 176 When Shu'eyb said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil)? 177 I have been sent as a trusted messenger to you. 178 be, then, conscious of God, and pay heed unto me! 179 I ask of you no recompense for this; my reward is only with the Lord of the Universe. 180 ۞ Give full measure and do not cheat; 181 and weigh with the straight scale, 182 and do not deprive people of what is rightfully theirs; and do not act wickedly on earth by spreading corruption, 183 but be conscious of Him who has created you, just as [He created] those countless generations of old!" 184 They said, “You are under a magic spell.” 185 "You are but a human being like us and verily, we think that you are one of the liars! 186 So cause to fall upon us fragments of the sky, if you should be of the truthful." 187 He said, "My Lord is most knowing of what you do." 188 Then they branded him a liar, whereupon the chastisement of the Day of Canopy overtook them. It was the chastisement of a very awesome day. 189 Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 190 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 191
