۞ We revealed to Moses: "Set forth with My servants by night for you will be pursued." 52 Then Pharaoh sent heralds to (all) the Cities, 53 'These' they said, 'are a small band, 54 They are always harassing us. 55 And most surely we are a vigilant multitude. 56 Thus did We drive them out of their gardens and springs 57 Treasures, and every kind of honourable position; 58 Thus we let the Israelites inherit them all. 59 Pharaoh and his people pursued them at sunrise, 60 and as soon as the two hosts came in sight of one another, the followers of Moses exclaimed: "Behold, we shall certainly be overtaken [and defeated]!" 61 Moses replied: "By no means. My Lord is with me. He will show me the way." 62 Then We inspired Musa (Moses) (saying): "Strike the sea with your stick." And it parted, and each separate part (of that sea water) became like the huge, firm mass of a mountain. 63 And there We brought the others on, 64 We saved Moses and all the people with him 65 and then We caused the others to drown. 66 Verily herein is a sign; but most of them are not believers. 67 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 68
